This place is poor on a good day and a total rip-off on a bad day.Mississippi native Waters, born McKinley Morganfield, moved to Chicago in the early 1940s. The soaring splendor of a European Opera House combined with the down-home aura of a juke-joint make House of Blues a wonderfully unique entertainment experience. Its a tourist trap and one half and a rip-off! I am a live music junkie and have been to hundreds of venues. Chicago’s premier restaurant and concert venue is a unique setting for any private event.
Never and I will repeat this NEVER will go to another show at the House of Blues.
The sound mix sounded like someone in 1st grade was mixing the sound. Huh?!? What part of GA does HOB not understand? Finally after the second band started I left.

The place holds 500 or so, and they sold probably 800 "General Admission" tickets to a place full of reserved seats. Then the folks who were either way in the back of the line or just strolled in at 9pm for thier reserved seats had a seat or they just proceeded to stand right in front of me. Hello! Isn't this General Admission? What a RIP OFF! I then finally found 2 barstools in a corner where I couldn't see worth a dang and sat there. Well, every dang seat/bar stool had "reserved" stickers on them. Most of the guys/gals in front of me in the line had proceeded up to the stage. Your house Located in the heart of Chicagos Marina City Complex, this lively venue offers the perfect location to host your next corporate event, private. Well.lo and behold when we hustle in after being frisked by security (boy, do they like to let everyone know who's in charge) I then proceed to find a good seat. Featuring national and local headlines in one of Chicagos most beautiful venues its a perfect night out in downtown Chicago. Am I a big Motorhead fan? NO! I'm just 46 years old and can't stand in a venue for four hours, so I was there early to be able to snag a seat. Chicago Comedy Club is a special event sponsored by the House of Blues inside the members-only, VIP club - The Foundation Room. At 8pm, I'm still in line but at the very front of the line. I was outside in line at 6pm for a show where the doors were to be opened at 7:30pm. I bought tickets to a show that was billed as "General Admission" which to me means.first come first served! But not at the HOB my friends. There were VIP seating and a general admission area which is standing room only. The theater itself was an intimate experience, and very dark. The building is well decorated, unique, and fun to explore. I was at the HOB on Sunday night August 30th to see the Reverend Horton Heat and Motorhead. The House of Blues is a well decorated concert venue and restaurant in Downtown Chicago.
